Artist Statement

What I do makes the work. My actions place me in the present of private moments in domestic and immediate environments. They are diary entries of responses, a document of making, touching on the found and spontaneous.

The work reaches its aesthetic in the medium as conclusions of subjective beauty, cognitive play, an ending art can achieve as a personal practice, the arrival of surprises.

I pivot on the poetics of the creative moment and the space this allows, where the interventions and the harmony between the juxtaposition of fragments create a multitude of curatorial relationships. Installations which complete my practice.

As an artist/poet these outlets are subject to change all together and at the same time. Separately they work as collections, series in flux. Together they take on an endless telling of stories. Richly layered and open to interpretation.

My series of process led paintings endeavour to use the subject of sunrises and sunsets as a metaphor for the ideas and expression of form and beauty. The infinite potential between night and day.
